On Friday the 17th, the Board of Brotherhoods of Holy Week in Santiago de Compostela presented its poster and program for this year, 2020. The event took place in our Coworking space and featured significant novelties, a strong institutional presence, and a large audience and media coverage.
For the second year in a row, Holy Week in Santiago has been declared a Festival of Touristic Interest in Galicia. The Holy Week in Santiago de Compostela boasts 5,000 members of brotherhoods and has a history of 400 years.
Among the announced novelties for this year, one stands out: the creation of an application that will provide information to residents and tourists about the 17 processions of this year. It also includes a Commerce and Services Guide prepared by the Compostela Monumental Traders Association.
The event had institutional representation from the Xunta and the City Council of Santiago, both interested parties and collaborators in the cultural projection of the city's Holy Week, with an eye toward the upcoming Xacobeo.
Holy Week this year will begin on Friday, April 3, with the Procession of Sorrows, and will conclude on the 19th with the "Dominica in Albis." This year, three of the processions will pass by the Cathedral.
