On July 5th, the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) published the resolution establishing the guidelines for the EMEGA 2020 program to promote women's entrepreneurship.
Objective
The objective of this initiative is to support the establishment, improvement, and reactivation of business initiatives led by women, along with promoting other measures to facilitate work-life balance. The ultimate goal is to enable women with ideas to materialize them and contribute to generating wealth and new job opportunities.
EMEGA 2020 Lines
The EMEGA program includes four specific lines:
- The 'Start', to promote the launch of new business initiatives and create stable female employment, either self-employed or employed by others.
- The 'Innovate', to promote the implementation of innovative measures to improve the competitiveness of businesses led by women.
- The 'Reactivate', to foster the reactivation and consolidation of businesses through measures such as renovation, expansion, or change of location aimed at mitigating adverse economic situations.
- The 'ITEF (Science and Technology Initiatives)', to incentivize women-led business initiatives with scientific or technological content.
Additionally, there is an additional line of complementary support called 'Concilia' (Balance) to promote work-life balance.
Beneficiaries
Private companies formed by women that start their economic activity or formalize their Innovate or Reactivate plans between August 1, 2019, and the application submission deadline under this call can be beneficiaries of the EMEGA program, provided they meet all the common conditions and specific requirements of the corresponding line or type of aid stipulated in this resolution, as well as in the general subsidy regulations, particularly the requirements established in Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, and its regulations.
In the case of individual entrepreneurs, the application must be submitted by the self-employed worker.
